Portland Emergency Services
Your Pet Is Our Priority
Just like humans, our pet companions sometimes need emergency treatment. This can be due to accident, injury, or sometimes just from the sudden onset of a possible serious illness. We know how important it is to get these valued members of your family access to immediate treatment, and our compassionate team will work closely with you to devise a plan that works best for your pet’s unique case. We will also reach out to your usual veterinarian with a full update of your pets’ condition and progress.
What to Expect
When you contact us, we will initially provide free advice over the telephone and advise whether or not we believe your animal needs immediate veterinary treatment. If we feel that your pet does need urgent medical assistance, we’ll ask you to bring them to our clinic, where we have the expertise, equipment, and preventative medicine to provide the very best care.
We will see your pet as soon as possible after your arrival, where an examination will be carried out by a qualified veterinarian. We operate on a priority-first system so that animals deemed in the greatest need after their initial assessment will be seen and treated first, but we aim to ensure that all animals are treated as promptly as possible.
Common Symptoms that Often Equal a Pet Emergency
If you think your pet may be experiencing signs of an emergency, consider their visible symptoms. Your pet should be seen as soon as possible if they are experiencing any of the following warning signs:
- Change in body temperature
- Rapid or weak pulse
- Pale gums
- Excessive bleeding
- Inability to urinate or defecate
- Loss of consciousness
- Difficult or labored breathing

It will be necessary for us to ask for payment for your pet’s consultation and treatment at the time care is provided. An idea of costs will be provided at that time. If you have pet insurance, the cost may be all or partially reimbursed by your policy, but it’s important that you check the conditions and small print carefully.
We understand and value your special relationship with your pets and can assure you that when they are in our hands, we will treat your family pet as if they were our own.
